Subway sketch

On the way home from work a quick sketch at every trainstation.

As the train stops for only about 30 to 60 seconds, the sketches are quite rough. But it´s a good way to learn to reduce the lines to the most important structures of the motive. And beeing forced to look and draw quickly, there is no time for perfection...

Usually people start moving nervously, as soon as they notice that they are being drawn (unless they are beeing diverted by reading, talking, etc.), which makes their pose an even more ephemeral affair.

New painting finished

I started this one just two days ago but with a detailed imagination in my head. Done for the wall of our sleepingroom (which is painted in some kind of olive green none colourful colour) it adds some relaxing light and deep blue colour to the palette.

New Sketches online

To show you some more of my work, I uploaded some Sketches from this year´s first sketchbook.

Here are some impressions from a trip to Cinque Terre in north italy in april this year. Cinqe Terre is so beautiful, romantic and lovely! Five little villages are located on a rough and rocky shoreline. Since italy buildt a railway to connect the villages, travelling there is pleasure. Well ok, as long as one can accept the masses of tourists from all around the world (there are much more tourists than nationals).

This is a view at the houses of PORTOVENERE´S harbour. They are painted in bright colours and are actually a WORLD HERITAGE SIGHT.
